Approval by the member body of the DCSEA is required for adoption of the edited Bylaws. The bylaws are recommended by the Executive Board for adoption. Please see the attached edited Bylaws for 2025 and vote Yes or No by clicking the corresponding button above. Voting will close April 9, 2025 at noon. The vote requires a simple majority for ratification. The 2020 Bylaws are provided for comparison. As a reminder of what was changed, see below:
-Increase dollar amount e-board can approve $500 -> $1000
-Increase retirement checks $500 -> $1000
-Increase OIS money involved on leave $500 -> $1000 and witness on leave $250 -> $500
-added Political Action Committee (PAC) language
-added Sgt. as members (maximum of 1 patrol and 1 corrections regardless of board position)
-Separated Treasurer and Secretary positions. (language still allows for one person to do both)
-added Janus vs. AFSCME language
-Reduce % to initiate a recall of executive board members: 50% reduced to 1/3
-multiple areas edited for clarity
